ELEMENTS
My latest photographic series “Elements” is a powerful reminder of the beauty that can be found in the most unexpected places. Through macro photography of stones and petrified wood, I'm able to reveal the intricate patterns and textures that are often overlooked in everyday life.
This series is not just about the aesthetic appeal of these natural elements, it's also about the concept of self-similarity and the way it relates to our own lives. The patterns found in these minerals are a visual representation of the fact that small patterns repeat themselves in larger structures, just like our own lives. The more we understand this concept, the more we can appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world around us.
But it's not just about the beauty of these patterns, it's also about the human attraction to familiar patterns, even if we don't know they are familiar. We are drawn to patterns in our everyday lives, and these patterns evoke positive emotions and memories, leading to a sense of trust and reliability. Nature reuses what works, we are nature. I think that is why we all feel such a sense of closeness to the natural world and why just looking at images like this can be a healing experience.
Through this series, I want to inspire you to take a closer look at the world around you and to remind you of the interconnectedness of all things. The beauty and complexity of these natural elements are a powerful reminder that there is beauty in everything, we just need to take the time to look for it.
